About

My Road Only Goes Forward (http://bio.brionriborn.com)Brion Riborn grew up with a young heart, an old soul and a guitar. Reflective and yet always pushing forward, his timeless songs fall firmly in the tradition of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen with a touch of John Mayer and a hint of Joni Mitchell. Whether busking on street corners or playing for a packed house, Riborn's passionate performances and heartfelt songs draw you in with the depth and sincerity of a true artist. As BUZZ Magazine put it: “Riborn is among Detroit's most promising. It won't be long before you'll be saying 'I knew him when' about Brion Riborn.”A Michigan native, Riborn is a natural risk-taker, seeing the value of experience as more important to art than security. “I went the opposite direction of most people I know,”he explains. “When the economy took a dive and everyone was struggling to hold tight to what they had, I chose to move into the uncertain world of music full-time.” A gamble to be sure, but this is the path on which Riborn feels most comfortable, between security and exploration, light and dark, love and apathy. “The places I've visited, the people I've met and the lessons I've learned are much more valuable than safety and comfort.”Riborn's latest release “Don't Look Back, Never Look Back” is his most fully realized statement yet. A collection of carefully crafted, accessible pop/rock songs performed by Riborn and industry veterans such as bassist Dean Dinning of Toad the Wet Sprocket, drummer David Raven from Mojo Monkeys, and guitarist Phil Solem of The Rembrandts, “Don't Look Back, Never Look Back” is a meditation on moments of hope and heartache, and a call to resilience that is a recurrent theme in Riborn's work. Recorded in Los Angeles and Detroit, the album was released independently in December of 2012.Riborn is eager to hit the road in 2013 supporting the new record. “I've spent a lot of time traveling as I wrote these songs before heading into the studio, and I can't wait to get back on the road. It's a metaphor as old as dirt, but when it comes down to it, we all choose our path in life. I'm just a fellow traveler who writes songs to share with others along the way, and my road only goes forward.”OFFICIAL WEBSITE: http://www.brionriborn.comTHE MUSIC: http://music.brionriborn.comPRESS WEBSITE (EPK, photos, etc): http://epk.brionriborn.com
